'Alpine White'

Raised in Victoria, B.C. around 1995; a truly miniature lavender that thrives in containers and rock gardens. The delicate, sweet fragrance makes the flowers an excellent choice in dessert recipes. 'Avice Hill'

A seedling from 'Munstead' selected by Avice Hill for it's splendid fragrance. It was subsequently named after her in 1997 but is sometimes sold as 'Impression.' The long stemmed, dark purple flowers make it excellent for ornamental and hedging purposes. The flowers make stunning bouquets and it is a great culinary option.

'Blue Mountain White'

Originally sold as 'Alba' in New Zealand by Blue Mountain Nurseries and renamed in 2002 by Downderry Nursery of the UK due to a more gray appearance than 'Nana Alba.' It has pure white flowers that create a great contrast when planted with other dark purple lavenders. The compact growth habit makes it a good choice for containers.

'French Fields'

We would like to bring some enlightenment to the origin of this plant. It was originally purchased from another nursery, by us, labeled as "Lavandula angustifolia from the perfume fields of France". This is how we labeled and offered it for years. Someone in WA decided to shorten the name to Lavandula angustifolia 'French Fields' and we decided to just go with it for the sake of keeping the name consistent. Along came another rumour that we had originally stolen and smuggled this plant back from the fields of France. Unfortunately, we've never actually been to France.

This plant has a compact growth habit, is one of the earliest lavenders to flower and also blooms again in the fall. The highly fragrant, dark flowers are great for bouquets, oils and culinary use.

'Fring A' (Fring Favorite)

A field variety raised by Norfolk Lavender of England in the 1960s. We purchased it as 'Fring Favorite' but Henry Head of Norfolk Lavender has since expressed a wish that it be called 'Fring A' throughout the trade.  An attractive plant  that blooms bright violet-blue flowers, relatively late in the season. Named for California botanist Martha Roderick who collected it as a seedling in Reno, NV. 'New Zealand Blue'

A plant we purchased in New Zealand in 2011 that was sold to us as 'Pacific Blue'; we quickly identified that this was not the correct name and after contacting the nursery decided that it must be a sport or seedling. It has a lighter flower color than 'Pacific Blue' and is a better culinary choice.

'No. 9'

A cultivar selected for high quality oil production and heavy blooms. It forms a very tidy shrub which is favored for landscaping. Selected from stock in the Puget Sound of Washington and introduced by Norfolk Lavender of England in the 1950s.

'Opal Rain'

A sensational lavender that was discovered as a sport on 'Melissa Lilac' in Yamhill, Oregon at Wild Rain Lavender Farm. It has large flowers made up of soft wooly calyces and pale pink corollas which darken as they age. The sweetly scented flowers are an excellent choice for culinary use, especially for desserts. This plant forms a perfect compact mound of gray-green foliage with sturdy 10-12" flower stems. This is one of our Fundraiser Plants.

'Pastor's Pride'

Our own 1998 introduction from a seed we had collected from 'Royal Purple' on a trip to England in the 1980s. We selected it for it's long, dark purple flower, compact growth habit and hardiness. The highly fragrant flowers are one of the best for dried bouquets, wreaths, oil and culinary use.
