Lobelia laxiflora var. angustifolia
Native to Arizona and Mexico where it is commonly found growing under oaks and poplars but it is much hardier than its origin suggests (ours has survived 10 F and below). Blooms copious amounts of tubular red and yellow flowers in early summer that are literally irresistible to hummingbirds. Forms a very dense clump.
Requirements: Full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil.
