Santolina 'Lemon Queen'

Common name(s): cotton lavender

Description: evergreen shrub; a compact cultivar with gray-green foliage and pale yellow button flowers in summer. 

Height: to 2 ft. Spread: to 3 ft.

Position: full sun and well-draining soil

Uses: sachets to repel fleas/insects, potpourri, dried bouquets, ornamental- low hedges

Winter Hardiness: to 0 F and below

Drought: Adapted to 4 months of summer drought

Notes: this cultivar is listed under at least 5 different species throughout the horticultural trade. It seems to be most accurately S. neapolitana but being that Santolina taxonomy is still being debated we'll just hold our breath.
