Aloysia citrodora (Lemon Verbena)

A perennial shrub native to South America. The leaves have some of the most concentrated lemon flavor of any herb and make an excellent flavoring for meat dishes, tea, cocktails, or desserts. It can also be infused in cooking oils or alcohol or added to soaps or lotions for a pleasant lemony aroma.

Requirements: Full sun, well-draining soil, and some winter protection for extended temperatures below 20 F.
