A diminutive, ever-silver shrub with dense, branching foliage that releases a pleasant smell of curry spices when bruised. Flowers rarely or never. Best grown in very lean, nutrient sparse soil with very little to no supplemental water. Utter neglect is the key to longevity with this one.

Helichrysum italicum 'Miel et Curry'

Description: evergreen shrub; a selection by Olivier Fillipi of Pépinière Filippi in France for its especially fragrant flowers that smell of honey and curry on hot summer days. This is not the curry leaf popular in Indian cuisine but it is used very sparingly in medicine and some cuisines around the Mediterranean.
