Description: evergreen shrub; raised by Virginia McNaughton and Dennis Matthews of New Zealand in 1995 and introduced in 2002. Vase-shaped growth and fragrant, dark purple flower spikes on mid-length stems. Very impressive when planted en masse or hedges. Popular as an oil plant in New Zealand where it is very decorated with essential oil awards.
