Description: evergreen shrub; a chance seedling from our own garden that we introduced in the 1990s. Distinctively aromatic foliage (indicative of L. viridis in its parentage) and contrasting dark purple corollas with short, ivory white bracts.

Height: to 2 ft. Spread: to 2 ft.


Stem length: 8-10 in.  

Corolla: dark purple

Sterile bracts: ivory

Bloom season: spring-autumn

Best Uses: landscaping, containers, rock gardens


Position: full sun and well-draining soil


Winter Hardiness: to 10 F and below


Drought: adapted to 5 months of summer drought
