Sisyrinchium 'Rocky Point'

Description: perennial; a selection of S. bellum collected from Rocky Point near Carmel, California and introduced by Native Sons Nursery. Larger flowers and more vigorous than typical forms of S. bellum. Curiously won't set seed like the species. Forms a clump of wide leaf blades and blooms large purple-blue flowers in spring and on and off throughout the summer.


Height: to 6 in. Spread: to 8 in.


Position: full sun and well-draining soil


Uses: ornamental- in rock gardens, containers or the front of a border


Winter Hardiness: to 10 F and below
